FONP provided 137,055 meals in the City of Buffalo during 2017. Meals are freshly prepared, balanced, and hot. These are served at community feeding sites across Buffalo. FONP serves meals 7 nights per week, and 2 lunches in Allentown. In addition, FONP offers a Food Pantry on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7 to 9PM and coordinates the Food Bank of WNY mobile food pantry serving Buffalo’s West Side and partners with Gerard Place to help make this possible on the East Side.
Through partnerships with Lt Col. Matt Urban Hope Center, The Genesis Center, Salvation Army, PUSH, Hispanos Unidos de Buffalo, Gerard Place, WNY Muslims, Asamblea de Iglesias Cristianas we facilitate other agencies helping them reduce the effects of poverty in South Buffalo, the East and West Side of Buffalo, and Riverside.
Food is a source of health, comfort, and hope. Our meals provide the common denominator which brings all people together and allows those in need of assistance a welcoming, respectful, and safe opportunity to access this and other service they may need.
FONP provides case management to clients in need of immediate assistance and advocacy during dinner hours in Buffalo, NY. The organization also distributes clothing and hygiene products, offers free medical care, and has shower, laundry, a locker program, and mail service available for individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in our community.
